These sweet-looking jewels are hard to resist.

Whether literal homages to tasty treats, or simply a nod through color choice, jewelry has certainly developed a sweet tooth. Curvaceous shapes that follow the squidgy lines of cakes can be a tantalizing contrast to the clean lines of diamond cuts, while round cabochon gemstones in sugary shades, with crackles of inclusions, take us back to those big glass jars of hard candy from our youth. The palatable palette for this trend is a pick ’n’ mix of soft, marshmallowy pastels, icing-sugar white, and eye-popping confectionary colors. If it looks delicious, it’s in.
